Christina Córdova-Herrera

Director of Communications and Narrative Strategy at Chicago United for Equity

Christina is the Director of Communications and Narrative Strategy at Chicago United for Equity. In this role, she leverages her expertise to increase visibility and awareness of CUE’s mission and values, amplifying its impact through diverse communications channels.

As a Chicagoan born and raised, daughter of Mexican immigrants, mother, and Army wife, Christina’s personal experiences inform her work approach and deeply influence her advocacy for various communities, including Latine, immigrants, veterans, and those affected by mental health issues.

Before joining CUE, Christina was the Director of Public Relations at Purple Group, managing public relations efforts for clients in the transportation, tourism, and public sectors.

With more than 17 years of experience, she excels at sharing bold ideas, conveying innovative information, and crafting impactful messages that resonate with the intended audiences. At Chicago Foundation for Women, she led the ideation, development, and execution of its communications and events and served as a member of its Anti-Racism Transformation Team.

At Benefit Chicago, an award-winning place-based impact investment fund, she led community engagement efforts that facilitated the distribution of funding for several social enterprises. Her role at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago supported outreach to Spanish-speaking clients through a full agency website redesign, document translations, and Spanish media relations.  

Christina received a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing Communications from Columbia College Chicago and a Master of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of Florida, focused on Public Relations. Additionally, she received an English-to-Spanish translation certification from the University of Chicago.
